If I can be serious here for a minute…

(Big ups to Lance Storm for coming up with that amazing line)

I honestly don’t know who these guys are, but I thought the picture was dope, and it worked with my subject matter so I used it. Go listen to them and tell me what you think.

Keeping with the theme, let’s be honest…

Do most followers actually read posts and want to discuss or is it just blind liking? I wrestle with this thought so much as I wait for comments to respond to, to really start a dialog and build that relationship with my followers, but don’t get many.

My question to you is: Is my content comment worthy? Am I not inviting enough to start that dialogue with you or is it just this millennial bullshit laziness?

Honesty is always appreciated.

To break to this serious tone, here’s some cute puppies…

And my Henry and Gibson.

  1. That’s always the question: are people reading or blindly liking? What prompts comments?

I appreciate your candid question. I’m sincere in my likes but I do keep a low bar. I want to encourage people to express themselves. I want to learn from them and their views and lives.

Part of my rating philosophy is my belief that it takes time to develop your blog voice, and time for followers to find you. I do want to encourage bloggers, and a like will help them feel like they’re not alone, pissing into the wind, but I do not issue likes for everything I encounter.

It takes time. Writing as one who flails at blogging, just as in other endeavors, a few folk manage to create brilliant posts out of the box while (others) flail along, searching for expression. And then, sometimes, you’ll be following a blog and suddenly they find themselves. It’s so damn good to experience that when it happens.

I’ve just begun following you but I’m enticed by the idea of future beer-nerdiness, that another beer lover is out there, ready to unveil more sudsy knowledge.
As an aside, I’m primarily a port or stout drinker. That doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy IPAs, amber and farmhouse ales, DIPAs…just about everything but light beers and that swill made by Miller’s, Michelob, and most other American mass produced beer. It’s saying a great deal when their claim to fame is the color of the can, or a new bottle design. That’s not beer, man; that’s marketing.

Here’s my favorite joke: why is making love in a canoe like American beer? It’s fucking close to water.

Sorry to be so pedantic. BTW, they are damn cute puppies. Cheers

    1. Hahahaha. Joke is spot on. I just figured what the hell, I drink all types of beer and 99% of blogs are craft exclusive so I thought of an interesting way to include the bad stuff. Your words are true man, I just get frustrated sometimes but I am new to this and it’s the only beginning. I appreciate this so much man.

  2. From what I’ve read of your blog, the content is good. I usually chuckle a handful of times. I’ve just now read one of your bond and beer ones. Sean Connery (I said shwards for 800, Alex in my head) and actually laughed out loud. Startled my dogs! And the cute puppy content is a bonus. Love that Giants scarf…the Patriots not so much lol

      1. I like your style (your choice in football teams? well….lol) Anyone that can find humor in the everyday ordinary things is a creative winner in my book😊 Your posts are intellectually funny and that’s a weak spot for me so I’ll be coming back for more. It may not always be a comment but it won’t be a blind like either.

      2. I’m from New England so it will always be the Pats haha. Who’s your team? That’s exactly what I’m going for, just trying to do something new and saying they’re intellectually funny more than humbles me! I appreciate your words so much.

  3. First of all ermergerd@puppies!

Secondly I for one would never blindly like a post. And I actually comment too much for most ppl lol. I will say I sometimes like a post I’ve only half read so that I can find it and finish later so maybe some ppl do that too. Some ppl are shy. Some just want you to like back (fkn instamillenials…) and sometimes ya like a thing but have no words atm.

…this is me trying to encourage you is it working?

Just keep writing. Forget about everything else. Also…I want that puppy with the ear can I have it pls? Thx! E.

  4. As for football teams, I’m a Steelers fan. I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA, in the 1960s, leaving in the early 1970s. I’ve remained a Steelers fan as I traveled the world, and still am, even though I’m out here in southern Oregon. Cheers

  5. I’ve read a few of your post so far. I have to say I enjoy the comedy in them. I’ve only tried beer once and will probably never do that again haha! I think it’s informative to those who like beer and you’re doing a great job! Don’t be discouraged by the lack of comments. It happens sometimes.

    1. Thank you!! I was once to a non beer drinker and don’t ever remember why I wasn’t haha but it’s not for everyone. I appreciate the compliment and thank you so much for reading. It means even more that you’re not a beer drinker, that’s what I want.

      1. Haha my dad was a huge beer lover. When he passed away I was given one of his classic beer mugs that budwiser released years ago. It’s on my bookshelf now. It’s interesting to learn about but I just don’t have a taste for it 🙂

  6. I don’t blindly like anything. I don’t do much blindly anymore.
I struggle to with wanting authentic relationships with the people who read my blog…I feel like they know parts of me that people I see on a daily basis don’t even know.
